Will the return on debt funds after 3 years be different for NRIs

Being invested in any debt fund for more than 3 years by an NRI and Resident Indian return on maturity will be same? If not how much will differ?

The return on debt funds after 3 years in case of NRIs as well as Resident Individuals will be same. In fact, why debt funds, in case of any category of funds, returns are same.

However, please note that in case of NRIs, TDS is done in case of short term capital gains. That means, in case of debt funds, if the holding period is less than 3 years and in case of equity funds, if it is less than 1 year, then tax will be deducted at source (TDS) when the funds are redeemed.

Hope the above clarifies your query.
