Is my fund selection good for moderate risk

Need suggestions on my current portfolio whether I should continue with it or need some switch over. 1) L&T India Value Fund Growth Rs. 1000, 2) Kotak Emerging Equity Scheme Growth Rs. 1000, 3) Axis Long Term Equity Fund Growth Rs. 2000, 4) ICICI Prudential Export and Other Services Growth Rs 1500, All investments are through SIP and started last year. My investment horizon is for 10+ years and risk appetite is moderate. It has been observed later that there are overlapping in my funds ranging from 4-10%. Please advice me a good portfolio and some funds or any changes in my current folio?

Even though you have mentioned your risk profile as moderate, you are investing in aggressive equity funds from ELSS, midcap and thematic fund categories. However, the selected funds are good, but they are ideal for high risk takers.

For moderate risk takers, investing via balanced funds is the best option. Some of the top performing balanced funds are ICICI Prudential Balanced Funds, HDFC Balanced Fund, SBI Magnum Balanced Fund and DSP BlackRock Balanced fund.

Therefore, you should change your fund selection based on your risk profile. However, you may continue with the ELSS fund as this is meant for tax saving under section 80C of the Income Tax Act 1961.
