How to exit from close ended funds

How to exit from close ended mutual fund series?

Jan 9, 2017 by Nilesh, Mumbai  |   Mutual Fund

In an open-ended fund, you can exit (redeem) your units any time. But in a closed ended fund, you cannot exit / redeem the units before the maturity period of the scheme by selling units back to the fund house.

However, if the unit holder wants to exit, he can endeavor to sell the units at the stock exchange where the units of the close ended fund is listed. However, it has generally been noticed that the units of close ended funds are not traded frequently and therefore you may not be able to sell it even on the stock exchange.
