How can we start SIPs for our retirement planning

Me and my wife are 40 year old professionals want to start SIPs in equity funds for long term 15-20 years. Our goal is retirement at 60. Till now all our bIG investments are in FD, PPF, KVP, LIC, NSC, KVP. Kindly suggest a well diversified portfolio for us with moderate risk. Kindly don't repeat the funds in both portfolios to get more diversification with different AMCs. We want to invest 100,000 each every month?

Since both, you and your wife, are moderate risk takers, you should invest in large cap and balanced funds for creating your long term retirement corpus.

For investing in large cap category, you can select from schemes like, SBI Bluechip Fund, Kotak Select Focus Fund, Birla Sun Life Frontline Equity Fund and ICICI Prudential Focused Bluechip Equity Fund.

For investing in balanced funds, you can select from schemes like, HDFC Balanced Fund, SBI Balanced Fund, DSP BlackRock Balanced Fund, Birla Sun Life Balanced 95 Fund and ICICI Prudential Balanced Fund.
