Can you suggest me moderate risk funds for lump sum investments

My investment horizon is for 5 years duration. I want to invest 30-40 lac rupees. Can you suggest me what are the best schemes of mutual funds to invest in risk profile moderate. Are Balanced Funds with monthly dividend payout a good choice at 40 years of age?

Choice of Balanced Funds for moderate risk profile is fine and you may go ahead with this. However, you should opt for monthly dividend pay out option only if you need it.

Just because the fund is declaring dividend you should not opt for it. Growth and dividend options are purely based on your future requirement and objective of the particular investment. This we are writing just because you are only aged 40.

You may select few of the top performing funds from here -

ICICI Prudential Balanced Fund

HDFC Balanced Fund

DSP BlackRock Balanced Fund

SBI Balanced Fund

L&T Prudence Fund

Birla Sun Life Balanced 95 Fund
