Which category of mutual funds are suitable for long term SIPs

I would like to know which category of the below mentioned mutual fund categories are best suited for very long term capital appreciation through SIP mode of investment. (approximately an investment around 15 years) 1. Large Cap (Blue Chip) or 2. Diversified / Multi-Cap or 3. Small Cap/Mid Cap?

All the three fund categories are good for investing through SIP as your investment objective is long term capital appreciation and investment horizon 5 years.

However, before you start investing in these category of funds, you should also know your risk profile. Depending upon your risk profile, you should select the category of funds.

For example - If your risk taking ability is high to moderately high then you can consider investing in large cap and diversified equity funds and if your risk taking ability is moderately high to very high then you can invest in all the three categories. This is because investing in mid and small cap funds has the highest risk.
