Should I prune mu existing portfolio

I have SIPs in SBI Blue Chip, Mirae Asset Emerging Bluechip, HDFC Mid-Cap Opportunities, ICICI Prudential Value Discovery, Birla Sun Life Equity @3000 each and in Axis Long Term Equity Fund, HDFC Equity @ 2000 each and in Mirae Asset India Opportunities Fund, Quantum Long Term Equity @1000 each. Is my portfolio correct? If not, how can I prune it? Please suggest?

Sorry for replying very late.

Even though you have selected good funds, the total number of funds are quite high. You should consider reducing the total number of funds in your portfolio based on your risk profile and investment horizon. The funds you have selected are good for investors with high risk profile having investment horizon of minimum 5 years or more.

You may also consider our following suggestion –

1. By replacing HDFC Equity fund, you can add Rs 1,000 each in SBI Bluechip Fund and BSL Equity Fund

2. Are you investing in AXIS Long Term Equity Fund for saving taxes? If yes, then you may consider investing in DSP BlackRock Tax Saver Fund.

Thanks for writing to Advisorkhoj.
