How long should I remain invested with my mutual fund investments

1. You have selected a good - BlackRock Focus 25 Fund DSP. Investment horizon for this fund should ideally be minimum 5 years!

2. You could have selected a better fund like ICICI Prudential Long Term Fund in place of Reliance Dynamic Bond Fund. Investment horizon for these funds should be minimum 3 years!

Again in place of HDFC High Interest Fund, SBI Dynamic Bond Fund and UTI Dynamic Bond Fund could have been better choices. Investment horizon for these funds should be minimum 3 years!

3. Kotak 50 is a large cap fund from Kotak Mutual Fund but Kotak Select Focus Fund is a better performing large cap fund from the same AMC. Investment horizon for large funds should be minimum 5 years!

4. ICICI Prudential Long Term Equity Fund (Tax Saving) - Though the fund is not among the top performers in the ELSS category now, the same has a track record of creating long term wealth for the investors. Wait for 3 years during the lock-in period, review after the lock-in period is over and take a call at that point in time whether to go ahead with this fund or not? For ELSS funds too, the investment horizon should be at least 5 years.
