Have I invested in the right mutual funds for 10 years

I am 38 year old working in PSU. I am investing with a time horizon of 10 years in following funds BSL Front Line Equities Fund Rs 3000, ICICI Value Discovery Fund Rs 1200, Franklin High Growth Companies Rs 1200, Tata Balanced Fund Rs 1300, Mirae Asset Emerging Bluechip Fund Rs 2000, DSP BlackRock Micro Cap Fund Rs 1000. I have also invested Rs 30000 in Kotak Low Duration Fund for 1 year. Kindly suggest how is my portfolio as I am willing to take risk, and I also want to invest Rs 70000 lump sum with a non negotiable time horizon of 3 years in secure income asset. Kindly suggest some good short term fund and any improvements for my long term goals which are education of my both children's aged 9 & 5 years and retirement?

You have selected good funds from large cap, mid cap, diversified and balanced fund category and with an investment horizon of 10 years the same will help you meet your child's education goals partly or fully.

With assumption of annual 12% returns, your monthly SIPs of Rs 9,700 can get you a corpus of around Rs 23 Lakhs after 10 years, against an investment of Rs 11.64 Lakhs. Please check this https://www.advisorkhoj.com/tools-and-calculators...

For your investments needs of 3 years, debt funds would be suitable. You may consider investing in ICICI Prudential Long Term and UTI Dynamic Bond Fund.

Our other suggestion is that you should think of saving for your long term goals like retirement etc. and invest separately for each of these goals.

Thanks for writing to Advisorkhoj.
