While we are on the subject of mutual fund dividends, kindly note that dividends are not assured irrespective of the frequency option provided by the AMC - monthly, quarterly, annual or half-yearly etc. - neither the dividend payout frequency nor the dates and amount is assured. Dividends are paid by the fund house on the profits made on the fund investments / or from the reserve that the fund has. There could be periods when the fund may not be doing well and it could miss out the dividend payment to its investors.
