As per your fund selection, your portfolio is 75% in large cap oriented funds and 25% in small / midcap funds. The large cap / diversified equity funds in your portfolio will also have some exposure to midcaps; so overall, the risk exposure in your equity portfolio is well balanced. If you want higher returns (but that always comes with higher risks), you can increase your exposure to midcaps. In the current market environment, however, a number of fund managers have told us that, large caps can be expected to perform very well. From an equity fund selection perspective, you have chosen good funds, which shows that, you are a well informed mutual fund investor.

You have not mentioned your investment goals or your risk profile; so, we cannot comment on asset allocation (debt : equity mix). HDFC high interest fund is a top performing income fund. But we have not heard of “BSL front line debt fund”. Please check, if the fund name is correct.

Thanks for writing to Advisorkhoj.
