On the advice of bank manager, I have invested my terminal fund in Canara Robeco savings fund June 2016. Now I want to invest in balanced fund. When I can switch to avoid tax on withdrawal?
Canara Robeco Savings Fund is an Ultra Short Term Debt Fund and it does not have any exit load. As it is a open ended fund, you can easily switch to the balance fund any time you wish without paying any exit load,
With regards to taxation, please note that the gains you would made from your investments in Canara Robeco Savings Fund during the period June 2016 to the date of switch, the same would be treated as short term capital gains and taxed according to your tax slab. You must show the gains while filing your income tax returns.
Hope the above was helpful.
