Dear Advicerkhoj team, Just I started to read your articles on Mutual fund & it was very much helpful. Please clarify my MF portfolio of Rs. 15500 with 7 funds. My aim is to invest for 10 -15 years with moderate risk. All the below funds were started from Apr 2015 1. BIRLA SUNLIFE TOP 100 FUND - DIRECT-GROWTH -Rs 2500 2. ICICI PRU VALUE DISCOVERY FUND - DIRECT-GROWTH-Rs 2000 3. ICICI EXPORT AND OTHER SERVICE FUND - DIRECT-GROWTH-Rs 2000 4. HDFC MIDCAP OPPURTUNITIES FUND - DIRECT-GROWTH-Rs 2000 5. FRANKLIN INDIA SMALLER COMPANIES FUND - DIRECT-GROWTH-Rs 2000 6. AXIS LONG TERM EQUITY FUND - RS 2500 7. TATA BALANCED FUND - RS 2000 By considering the above fund's performance I liked to stop Axis long term equity & ICICI Export And others service fund & I want to increase the monthly SIP amount from Rs15500 to Rs. 20000. Please suggest me whether I have to keep the above funds with out any changes or I have to add any new funds?
Thanks for your kind words. Glad that you read our articles and found them useful.
You review about your current fund selection in which you are doing SIPs is absolutely fine.
In place of AXIS Long Term Equity Fund, you should may consider investing in DSPBR Tax Saver Fund. ICICI Prudential Exports & Other Services Fund is a good performing fund but being from thematic category may not be suitable for your long term investment purpose. You may allocate additional amount to ICICI Prudential Value discovery Fund or choose another fund from ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund stable - ICICI Prudential Focused Blue Chip Equity Fund.
With regards to increasing your monthly SIPs, instead of choosing new funds, you may allocate additional amounts equally to Birla Sun Life Top 100 Fund, ICICI Prudential Value Discovery Fund, HDFC Midcap Opportunities Fund and Franklin India Smaller Companies Fund.
Hope the above helps you.
