Here is the clarifications of your doubts –

1. No. There is no data which can suggest or prove that funds having less AUM is better than that of funds having bigger AUM. In fact, fund selection should be based on the performance of the scheme, Fund manager’s ability to create alpha and the pedigree of the fund house.

2. To know how CRISIL ranks the funds can be found here https://www.crisil.com/capital-markets/mutual-fund-rankings.html It is always better if you can refer to research of various credible agencies including CRISIL while selecting mutual fund schemes.

3. The return is always calculated on the total value of the fund and the same reflects in NAV value. 4. Yes, your fund manager has the ability and mandate to change the portfolio structure of the scheme / change in stocks or holdings as per the mandate given to him. He follows the scheme objective which is given in the SID (Scheme information Document). He works in the best interest of the unit holders in good times as well as bad times.

5. Good that you have invested in ELSS funds, the best choice amongst tax saving options. Yes of course, you can invest more in this funds if the fund is doing well else invest in other better performing ELSS funds.
