For your investment needs of 1 to 3 years you should invest in debt funds. However, there are different category of debt funds based on investor’s investment horizon. Following could be few examples –

Upto 1 years – liquid funds or ultra-short term debt funds

Between 1 to 2 years – Short term debt funds

3 years – Long term debt funds or income funds

You have mentioned that your investment need is 1 to 3 years and you want to invest Rs 15 Lakhs. But you should be very clear as to how much you want to invest for 1 year, 2 year or 3 years out of the 15 Lakhs and accordingly choose the right category of funds. Once you are clear about the investment horizon, you can choose a consistent performing debt fund from here https://www.advisorkhoj.com/mutual-funds...

One more point, you should not invest in equity or equity oriented funds as your maximum investment horizon is 3 years only!

Hope the above helps! Thanks for writing to Advisorkhoj.
